About OFRF
The Organic Farming Research Foundation (OFRF) has supported organic producers since 1990, providing research, education, and advocacy that respond to farmers’ needs. Our work is guided by farmer input and designed to help growers succeed while strengthening organic systems nationwide.
What Is the National Organic Farmer Survey?
This national survey is how we learn directly from producers about their most pressing challenges, technical assistance needs, and concerns related to organic agriculture. The results shape everything from on-farm education to policy and funding decisions that impact organic growers nationwide.
The last time we conducted the survey, over 1,100 farmers participated and their insights directly informed our 2022 National Organic Research Agenda report. This report highlighted the challenges in particular regions and production types, and continues to guide researchers, educators, and policymakers today. You can also view reports from earlier surveys here.
This project is supported through the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Transition to Organic Partnership Program (TOPP). TOPP is a program of the USDA Organic Transition Initiative and is administered by the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) National Organic Program (NOP).
