George and Ann Bird Scholarship ($25 fee)
The G. W. Bird Family Foundation for Environmentally-Sound Agriculture is a nonprofit organization that promotes environmentally sound agricultural practices through awards, grants, and public education. Established in honor of MSU Professor Emeritus George Bird, the foundation fosters innovation in sustainable agriculture, funds research, and raises awareness about the environmental impact of farming methods. This scholarship is provided for those with financial need and asks that you contribute $25 towards the registration fee and the scholarship will cover the rest.
Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) Scholarship
SARE is a U.S. program that funds research and education projects to advance sustainable farming practices. It’s a decentralized program with four regional offices that award competitive grants to farmers, ranchers, and agricultural professionals to improve profitability, environmental stewardship, and the quality of life for farm communities. This scholarship is provided for educators who teach others about sustainable agriculture in some capacity. Whether you work with MSU Extension, a Conservation office, train interns on your farm, or teach a classroom full of middle schoolers, if you teach in some way we encourage you to apply for this scholarship.
MOFFA Volunteer Scholarship
MOFFA needs a few volunteers to help throughout the day and will provide an Organic Intensives scholarship to those who are willing to assist. You MUST be able to arrive early (7:45-7:50) and leave late, and be prepared to stand outside in potentially very cold weather.
